Why is it more secure?
If someone alters any information, such as an amount, the hash changes too. The next block will not recognize the previous hash, and the chain will break.

Does my previous hash match the hash of the previous block?
No match no chain
If the hashes do not match, something has been altered.
Everyone is watching!
The ledger makes changes visible, so altered data can be detected.
